Legro is a family business, where Tove and Erling Høgholt put their first young shoots on a bare field in Karlslunde in March 1958. At that time, four barrels of land and 400 m2 greenhouse without heat formed the small garden, where radishes, berries, cabbage, gherkins, lettuce, tomatoes and leeks were grown. The business grew steadily in the years that followed, and in 1988 the operation was completely reorganized to grow live, fresh herbs and salads in pots. Today, the sons Lars and Niels have joined the company, and the three men have shared the management tasks between them. The farm is gradually expanding over 30,000 m2 and has grown to a staff of about 60 permanent employees from seven nations. Diversity is cultivated in an exciting team, adding spice to life both literally and figuratively.
